Do You Have a Tooth Which Requires Extraction?

Posted .

At Flores Dental Care in Mission, Texas, Dr. Sylvia Ramirez Flores is pleased to offer tooth extractions to help our patients recover from smile issues.  If you have a tooth that has been damaged due to decay, or if you have a broken tooth, there are times we may attempt to save the tooth with a filling or crown restoration. But if you have a tooth which has suffered extensive damage, we may extract the tooth.

A tooth may be extracted for a variety of reasons:

–You have an extra tooth which blocks a tooth from emerging.

–You are preparing for braces, so extraction helps make room for the teeth that need to move.

–You have wisdom teeth which are infected, impacted, decayed, or in any way are causing you pain.

–You need radiation to the head and neck areas or are using cancer drugs that result in infected teeth due to a weakened immune system.

If your tooth needs a simple extraction, Dr. Sylvia Ramirez Flores will loosen it with an instrument to remove the tooth. If your tooth requires a surgical extraction, she will make a small incision in the gum to remove the tooth. In both cases, we make sure you are as comfortable as possible during the extraction.

If you have any questions or concerns about a tooth which may need an extraction, please call our office to speak with a member of our caring staff. We are here for all of your oral health needs. Just call 956-583-0055 today!
